55. Descent II Credits (Vintage Dreams Mix) posted by Alieo in Descent I + II - The Vintage Dreams Mix January 30, 2020, 10:35:40 PM 65
Music from Descent 2, Credits
Original Track: "Credits" by Dan Wentz
Rearranged By: DJ Hearseman (formerly Texace12, formerly formerly Alieo) via SynthFont

And that concludes all of the Vintage Dreams project I've been putting off for five years now. I'd like to make a new variation of each world (a Quartzon mix, Brimspark, Limefrost spiral) for each of the 4 songs, but I've been very busy lately. Got my CDL 3 years ago and drive trucks now, got engaged two years ago, and lost my father last year. Lots of changes. I simply don't have time to devote to Descent related stuff lately. I still pop Descent music on every now and then, of course. Y'all be good! Hopefully I get the D2 files done before 2030?

Raptor (Pelorus Electro Rmx) posted by Kaiaatzl in Easy Streaming and Linking - public February 14, 2011, 08:30:17 PM 796
A loose remix I made of the Pelorus theme from Obsidian, mostly keeping the same feel with totally different music and instrumentation and in the electro genre... but the beginning should be recognizable to anyone who's played through Obsidian (level 8, if you're not good with level names).

Raptor (as in a bird of prey) is the word that comes to mind when I listen to the original midi file from the game, and the "Raptor" feel is how I kept with the original feel.
To understand how I interpreted that feel... you are the raptor.

The original midi song was by Verran Eventide.

Another song I really like that isn't getting hosted anywhere else.  Kind of like a mix of industrial and spanish guitar, if you can imagine that.  If you can't, then listen to it!

Scary-scary cosplay as Pink from "The Wall". The headphones are AKG K-240 Studio with a custom cable. A modern rock/pop dictator has got to stay up-to-date with the tech.

A slow electro-rock song that just goes to prove how much I like harpsichord.
Oddly for me, this song is not from the point of view of a ridiculously powerful gauss-cannon-of-life carnivoran struggling to come to terms with a sudden transformation (because he used to be a man!  Before he got in THEIR way...) or losing some personal battle regardless of their gauss-cannon-of-life-ish level of power.  Though it's still not from a human point of view.  Why would I write something boring like that?
It's from the point of view of a completely-normal-in-power-level beached dolphin determined to return to the sea.  And in the end, the music implies he actually succeeds.  How about that for a change?  Flying makes a return as a metaphor -- for swimming, because if all you ever know is the sea, is there really a big difference?
And apparently this dolphin likes harpsichord.
