Thinking of you, Techpro!!!
« on: October 06, 2012, 06:24:16 PM »
Taking another cross country trip.  We decided to take US14 to see the spot where my friend got his truck stuck in a snow bank at 12 at night.  Afterwards, we passed through Greybull!!

It looks like a bison to me.
For lack of anything better for this board to do, could someone explain the significance of this to those of us who aren't psychic or TechPro?

Yeah it's going good.  Our goal was Alaska but we decided to not do that anymore lol.  Now we got nine extra days to spend on the west coast.  Currently in Washington, about to hit up the other side of Olympic National Park.

And Kaiaatsel, I took a trip like this three or so years ago.  My friend's truck got stuck in a snow bank up i the rocky mnts.  We wanted to pull over to the shoulder to check out the stars (In PA, there's too much light pollution to see everything). Turns out the shoulder was actually a drop off covered in snow.  This was at like 10 pm.  I ended up riding with two complete strangers who were moving from Chicago to Hawaii (lol) about 40 miles to Greybull.  I hung out at Maverik there after I couldn't get a hold of AAA, until 2 in the morning lol.  Thankfully this weird dude in a big van was able to pull my friend's stuck truck out of the snow bank.  And my friend was smart enough to figure out where I was.  Fun times.

Anyways, I told TechPro that story way back when...turns out he's from there.

Yeah, pulling onto the shoulder in the rockies is not the best idea in the world from what I hear.

Close, but I'm on the other side of Denver.  Boulder is NW of Denver, I'm in Parker/Centennial (SE of Denver).  I love it out here.

Yeah.  I wouldn't mind living in a city, but I also wouldn't mind living in Wyoming or Montana.  It's really cool up there.

BTW, this is my crowning achievement of the trip:
