lol, no, that was not a BPER, that's the Orbot from D3.
Here is a pic: http://www.koolbear.com/Descent/past/descent3net/robots/orbot.jpg

The BPER has a pair of claws beneath his main boy, and it's a bit more 'square-ish' in shape.

OHHH those things! I was thrown off by the size cuz those things are tiny, and I thought it was the profile of the BPER facing stage-left.

I have decided to start the skin over. I am going to make a light colored skin first, because the default SMF skin is light. Then I will copy it and make an identical but dark colored skin.

And, whoever requested the large text skin, would you prefer light or dark?

Lookin forward to having a look. I love customising stuff like CMS things but I never seem to find the time/perseverence, lol.

Haha, when I loaded this I just sat for a few seconds, taking it in and then I was just like ... "tasteful".
That is really nice and I don't even normally like sites with light backgrounds.
For some reason I always feel safer and more enclosed looking at a site with a dark background and lighter text but a lot of people hate that kind of thing.

I am glad you liked it. The dark skin will be a copy of it, but with the light text on dark colors. So I want to get the lite skin sorted first, then just copy it.

Concurred with Crash, that actually does look very nice, though I think I will probably want the dark theme in the end. :)

I would recommend against using the Descent title font for the menu selectors, though (the "home," "Forum," "Help," etc.) simply because the font can be hard to read for some. I would recommend the Descent briefing font instead, as that's both readable and Descenty. :)

I like how subtle the top-left logo is. I would resist adjusting that if you can help it.

I don't have that font, do you mean menu font? I have Descent Logo, Descent Menu and Descent Score.

Here are some demos:

Tiny portal is in release candidate status. Please go to Test 2: Planet Descent and help find bugs. Log in and screw around, just remember it will be deleted at some point so nothing serious. Post bug reports here, (or, I guess you can at the test site just as well) and I'll post a bug report on the Tiny Portal site.

Also notice the article button in the menu. I have posted a couple of sample articles. We never used the article system here because it is so buggy in this version, A lot of those bugs have been squashed, but there may be a few left. I could use some help finding and documenting them. If you have some time and would not mind helping out, let me know and I'll set you up with permission to use the article system there. You don't need to post real articles, ipsum lorem or whatever is fine.

@WillyP: Descent Score is the font I'm referring to. I see you already implemented it. Looks nice. 8)

Is there a way to change the theme yet or are you just showing one at a time?
