Which Descent 1 or 2 levelset had this theme as MIDI?
« on: September 04, 2010, 04:03:11 PM »
It was Guile's theme from Street Fighter. Someone in the Steam chat for SoH happened to post it and I realized that I have heard it from some Descent level.

Was it Vignettes or Enemy Within?

It definitely sounds familiar, but I can't place it.  Vignettes had a similar style of music but this wasn't in there... A few of the TEW midis were similar but I know that none of them were from Street Fighter.  (Except maybe the credits?)

I watched the credits and when they named the games, I didn't see anything from Street Fighter.

Vignettes had a song from Contra, I know that.

Man. All these songs and I have never heard one from Megaman. How about one from Megaman X? This one is a pretty cool song.

14, you can check DFW's or Lord Scalgon's youtube video to hear it.

Level 21 of Vignettes is the Dark Samus battle music from Metroid Prime 2! I havn't gotten there in the mission set yet, but I was going through all of the videos to find the Street Fighter music.

See? Everything but Megaman, I swear to you. :P

Ok, I looked through all of her videos and I didn't hear it at all. DarkFlameWolf, care to enlighten us with your vast knowledge of the Descent levels, please?

(maybe it is one of Pumo's in Pumo mines?) Nope, not there either, but it still has a kickass soundtrack!  8)

I was wondering what level 21 was...

I know that level 7, level 19, and level 20 were composed by Pumo especially for Vignettes.

The 'Dark Samus battle theme' was also used on DFW's Robo-anarchy level, Fortgotten Fortress (before it became part of Vignettes).

actually....the Vignettes level: Forgotten Fortress was made for Vignettes first. The extra passageways and other extra features that I added on to make it a more 'viable' multiplayer level was added after wards. Converted to D2, etc. and the anarchy level is the result of what I made for Vignettes. Not the other way around. So you were basically getting a nice glimpse into Vignettes a bit early, minus a few extra rooms I added on specifically for the D2 version.

I played Fortress yesterday and it was insane with the Gauss bots zipping around!

But what about the Street Fighter music? Do you remember if it was ever in one of the mission sets?

Which level on Vignettes?

Sorry to zombify this thread but I was looking through the game remixes on Newgrounds and I found the Vignettes level 9 music was also from Contra (the remix author said it was in an ice level).
