I could work at doing up a walkthrough on that too,

Due my very spare time beside work I would be happy if you could take over that thread.
But may be I could give some answer if there will be some questions about the production of that mission(s) will come up.

In Darks and my name: Thank you all for your nice comments about that level set.

Not sure what I was thinking there, other than obviously thinking about something else.

Nah, we don't want to know about this. That's private, though. ;)

TechPro

if I would simply say 'Yes', so it would be too easy.
There are some levels ready, including scripting. One was tested from two players. Result: One could beat it in detail, one was lost in the dark.
Level two is ready and the scripting was nearly done as we found out that we need some changes in level design and oof's.
I had to make several Editor changes so we could go ahead. Then personal problems coming up and slowed down the progress massive.
In the moment it is Darks 'time' with that personal trouble...
In the meantime I build ahead with the editor and some other stuff.
I hope (LL)Dark will get the energy and come back to work soon.
If, so there will be a good chance to see Part II this year.
Sorry, I can't say better things about, but that are the facts.

Hey, it possibly coming out this year is good news for me. :)

True, that's no guarantee, but it's something to look forward to. ;)

In our opinion the Material Defender is 'alone in the dark'. Absolutely!
Or did you ever saw Dravis talking to more than one of them, or did more than one Matdefender answer him? :)
Sorry, I must have overlooked that one earlier. ;)

I never saw MD fighting in an anarchy, monsterball, or even CTF game either. ;)

SP story is SP story. It hasn't got much to do with what players like to play. Apart from that, the entire "Descent story" was made up very very vaguely, with lots of contradictions, meaning the "story" was simply built around what was available on level/mission material.

That's why there are so many gaps and inconsistencies. ;)

What I like on that mission is all the effort that had been put in, and that's pretty visible. It's right, the rest of Descent 3 is wrong about blowing up a fuel tank. There's got to be some smoke or gas fire remaining for each one. The welder. The shelves. The water level to get further in the sewers.

The way the GB is repaired. Takes 10 seconds in the game but must have taken days or longer to build and script.

The level contains details I'd never seen in any Descent mission before. That's why it is so fascinating for me.

If Outrage had put this amount of effort and commitment in their levels they'd probably still be working on level 1.

That's exactly the reason why we didn't make MaS playable for that game types ;)

Yes, and there are so much more features, little details inside that levels.
I'm pretty sure that most of the players never recognized them all in detail.
Inserting that Guidebot feature cost me more than a day, much more..
And injecting 'life' into that little round bots was the hardest task.
I don't know if anyone saw for example that these little guys eat shield and energy powerups to become reloaded, repaired.
Or did anyone saw them steal powerups, or what about their formation flight and so on.

MaS PartII will own some never seen before features again.
There are simple -hunt and kill- tasks, some sightseeing tours and -things you'll need some brain for-, implemented.

Oh, I noticed, Atan, that's what makes those little flying baseballs so annoying. :P

Regardless, they look really cool. 8)

Isn't their screeching sound stolen from D2?
