It seems it's based on the infamous dark room of Secret Level 1 of D1.

It's a pretty nice fanart!  :)

Can't be D1 though, it features D2 bots (there's a diamond claw in there).

Wouldn't surprise me if it was inspired by that room though, or rooms like it.  8)
