... But I thought this one deserved a Soupe.  ;)

I'll begin by apologizing for not bringing news of a Descent 4. Sorry folks.

But I do bring you news of a 6DOF MMO - that's right, a 6DOF MMO - from Keen Software House called "Miner Wars." Features listed on the website:

Need more than a few words? Check videos and screenshots out on the Miner Wars website! (http://www.minerwars.com/Index.aspx)

"The player can join any one of the existing factions (ENFOR - Earth Nations Peacekeeping Forces, Space Rescue, WASA - World Aeronautics and Space Administration or many other corporations and Black Market Dealers)."

I hope that one of those include the PTMC. Maybe on multiplayer, you can create a company!  ;D

I wonder if we can put in a suggestion for a Pyro-GX?  :P

Technically speaking, Pluto's still a planet, it's just a dwarf planet now.

Furthermore, half the astronomers in the world still consider Pluto a proper planet.

And the "definition" for the planet that started all of this is fundamentally flawed anyway. According to it, Earth shouldn't be called a planet either. :P

As you can tell, I've done a lot of research about this. :)

And maybe, in the future this game takes place in, Pluto got promoted again. :D

Or maybe in the future this takes place, Earth gets demoted and there are only 7 (or less) planets?  ???

Maybe they will throw in a bunch of extra planets including Baloris Prime and SR388. :P

And maybe they won't stick with just "planets" either. :)

And, for further clarification on the "Earth shouldn't be a planet" issue (and because I'm on a roll :P); to quote the definition for a planet as laid down by the International Astronomical Union (IAU)

"A planet is a celestial body that...has cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit."

This is one of Pluto's biggest problems because it's orbit is very much not cleared, being shared by numerous other objects in the area, and it pretty much the one thing keeping it from being a "true" planet.

Pluto isn't the only planet to have this issue though.

Earth's orbit isn't clear. It shares it's orbit with a smattering of asteroids. Jupiter also has this dilemma.

Therefore, if one were to follow this definition, Earth can't be a planet. :P

You see why I criticize the definition now? ;)

Since you're on a roll, what is the definition of a planetary neighborhood? With all the celestial crap (comets, asteriods, hemeroids, whatever) floaring around, maybe there are no planets.
