Title: Downtime
Post by: -<WillyP>- on June 10, 2017, 11:25:03 AM
So, we've been offline fore a few days... I feel obligated to say something but I know no more than you do. No notice or explanation from the host. My business site, and email were also offline, e-mail is back but suncookcarpentry.com still is a no-show. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say a back-up was restored, only because the most recent posts here are missing.

I was beginning to wonder what happened... When it didn't come up after a couple of days, I began to think something happened with the host and PD was gone for good. Glad to see we're back up and running!  :)

I've noticed the same. I'm trying to get a backup started but c-panel keeps timing out.

Good to see you back. Drop me a PM if you'd like to discuss alternative hosting in the future :)

Thanks for the offer, Hunter. I have purchased hosting at InMotion, as I needed to get my business site and e-mail up and running as quick as possible. Once I get the bugs worked out of that I'll be putting this site in maintenance mode and transferring it over too. So far InMotion looks good, but time will tell as they say.

I was worried that I might not have access to make a recent copy of this site, as I have been rather lax about back-ups.

Edit: Well, I may have spoke too soon... though my websites are back up, the host's site is not. I can't ftp in to grab files, no c-panel to back up DB.

Well, long story short... turned out the old hosting somehow transferred us to another hosting company, but since I had already bought hosting at a new company I'll stick with that.

But I was able to get in and make a copy of everything! Seems to be working now, with a couple of exceptions I'll work on over time.

1, the files in the files section are there, on the server they are fine and I can download them through c-panel (control panel for hosting) but any file I tried to download through the browser turns out to be empty. If anybody wants any particular file, send me a pm.

And second, some issues trying to upgrade to the latest SMF version.

Weird. But I'm glad to see we're back up! I've also noticed browsing seems a bit more snappy than it did immediately after our last downtime... Maybe we're in the clear for a while.

Now don't go jinxing us, D2Disciple. :P

That said, I, too, hope no repeats of this will happen anytime soon. :)

If the site is down again at any point, you are welcome to reactivate your old accounts over at Sectorgame (https://sectorgame.com/forums/) . I see a few names on the memberlist from here :) The forum was actually disabled for a huge chunk of time a few years back, so it kinda fell off a cliff since then.

Doing great :)
My 2 1/2 year old son an upgrade, twin size matress with a cars theme. He loves cars, trucks, pretty much anything with wheels. Carts, vacuum, etc.

How are you doing?
