Title: Joystick issues!
Post by: randrew08 on September 22, 2013, 02:08:23 PM
Joystick users help!

I have a logitech extreme 3d pro joystick and the HAT button works just fine with D3. I.E. all my sliding functions are easily available. Same can't be said for D1 or D2! My HAT button doesn't work for either of them. Does anyone else experience this? can it be solved with new driver software? Or do I need to get a new joystick?

I don't know much about joysticks since I mouse but how are you running D1 and D2?  Dosbox, DXX-Rebirth, D2X-XL, etc.  Well there is no etc, but anyway that would be essential information for whoever actually knows enough to help you solve your problem.

Minor hijack, but I was actually thinking of buying that to replace my aging Precision Pro, bless its heart. Is it any good? If it is I'll probably be able to help you with your problem once I actually get my hands on it.

Yeah there's also a problem that nearly everybody in the community uses one particular type of joystick and it's not the kind you're using.  If I'm right it's also not in production anymore and pretty rare.
After seven (I think) years I'm still in denial that this could possibly be true...

This would be the first place to look.

I think the hat switch on my sidewinder is on the verge of breaking, the up sensor doesn't work unless I push on it harder.

Omron B3F-3120 switches (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/B3F-3120/SW407-ND/38364) will fit the Precision Pro (and the Logicrap stick as well IIRC. Nope, not out of the box.)
