Inspires the imagination, does it not?

I was digging around in my folders and came across some images I'd saved and this (along with a few others) caught my eye.
Created by Nick Herres somewhere around 2000, 2001. Rendering of the Descent 3 Phoenix Intercepter done in Bryce3D. Additional credit goes to Kumen who's 3DsMax model was used as a reference.

I was going to ask and get his permission before posting this, but I haven't managed to find an email address (the email link at the site referenced didn't seem to work).

sort of reminds me of the old star wars ships VS the newer ones, more polished/detailed. perhaps more eye popping and not just a piece of metal.
not sure about the purple, but overall, quite stunning.

Kruel is amazing, 'nuff said. C: It's a shame he's longer around, but what's he doing nowadays?

From what I could tell, he's doing games and graphics design, but I couldn't confirm it.

That would make sense.
I managed to contact him once a few years ago, but it was only to get his permission to use his robot designs from Konflict at Karon and Kryllidian Krusade. I still have that permission, actually... I should make use of it!
