w00t! Firts topic. Anyway.
Well! It all started out when I clicked on Vortex. THEN I had to wait an hour at the checking for updates screen(highly unusual). THEN the do you accept terms and crap screen came up. THEN a lot of my settings are gone! D3 command line was reset, and all of my nicknames are gone. Where I told Vortex to keep my windows has been reset too. I go to connect and all of my settings there are gone. So I type in everything again and I cannot connect to ANY SERVER! Strangely enough, the ONLY thing untouched is my buddy list.
Anyone know what is going on?
And I can't join any games! And Darcshadow was getting his butt kicked by Boogie. :'(
More info: I was able to join a game, but it crashes upon start.
I tried restarting Vortex, but I have to wait again.

That's certainly the most GENIUS programming I've ever seen. Then again the general quality of vortex is honestly a shame.

Ahhhh greaaat. Got to do it the manuel way. Now I can't see who's playing. Bad news if I walk into a game with Geo.

More bad news because I can't minimize D3 while in the main menu. It always crashes. I can't just type the IP, minimize to see the rest, and continue. :'(

Vortex appears to be back up.
I have used Gamespy Arcade to launch games. It doesn't have all the features of Vortex (i.e. mod/level download) but is seems more stable and is free, (and it does have a player list).

Vortex is still my "plan A", Gamspy Arcade is "plan B" and d3.descent.cx is "plan C". I run my game tracker in a second monitor to avoid the crash and burn you described.

All I know is that Do_Checkor is working on re-doing their server (which includes slyclan.de as well as some other stuff). Why that's causing so much havoc with Vortex, I dunno.
I can also 'second' PyroJockey's suggestion of a second monitor. I often keep handy things (voice-chat window, tracker window, etc.) on my second screen.

I heard that there is some special program that allows you to have 4 desktops on 1 computer. What you can do is put work in 1, game stuff in the next, and the game itself in another. There is some button that you can press on the keyboard and you can zoom out to this cube and you can rotate it to the different screens. It's fast and looks really easy. There's a video on youtube, but I forgot what it was called.

Well NZ my special day is over. Vortex currently is down for me as well. Plan B is still working however.
