Title: D1 MP level meanings
Post by: Sapphirus on April 13, 2012, 01:26:45 PM
here are the following meanings for D1's Total Chaos MP levels:
1. Mount Slagel = generic mountain name
2. Jalapeno = Spicy Vegetable (like for making salsa)
3. Death From Above = a technique that you jump and land on your opponent or a kill from above.
4. The Southern Cross = a specific constellation visible from the Southern Hemisphere.
5. Bushwacker's Paradise = a paradise for a someone who spends time in the bush (Australian) or (sarcastically) a paradise for a 55 ton battlemech from the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Bushwacker) :P (the Bushwacker 'mech debuted in the 1994 Battletech rulebook, "Battletech Compendium: The Rules of Warfare" (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/BattleTech_Compendium:_The_Rules_of_Warfare)

EDIT: Oops, can someone move this to the Levels/Mods forum

Mount Slagel is definitely a reference to the Descent developer John Slagel. It would be interesting to know the context which caused them to pick the names in the first place, though.

If they actually named level 5 after the BSW-X1, that would be awesome and then some.
