Title: What year does Descent take place in?

So I'm writing my book and I get an epiphany and suddenly the year that events take place in will become important, but better said as a "realistic year" that events could take place in.

I've gone back to the D1 briefing and it gives no year there. I'm pretty sure that D2-D3 don't give any years either.... Maybe D3 does.... I don't remember.

The novels might, but that's a lot of digging.

Wikis and websites were bust.

I'd kind of like the year in my novel to be a reference to Descent.

I don't recall any specific year either. My own series will reference it something like 300 years after the Great Transmode Virus War. But I can't really pin it down to any specific year.

No, none of the Descent games name a specific year, nor even a specific century. It's just sometime in the future.

The books may name a year (I wouldn't know, haven't read them), but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the author taking a guess, and isn't the actual year the game developers intended, if they ever had a specific time frame in mind.

The D1 manual gives a year, but I can't remember it.
You should have it with the GOG copies though.

If the D1 manual has the year, I can look it up since I have it, but I'm at my university right now.  What I do know is that apparently Pyros have been around for over 40 20 years according to the level 1 tutorial.

Edit:  Tried looking it up online, and it looked just like the D1 manual until I found that the walkthrough wasn't there.  I know that the Walkthrough is in my D1 manual.  It is also in the PSX manual (adapted for the PSX version of course) and the Definitive Collection manual.  The manual I looked at said virtually nothing about the story.

I looked at the GOG version of the manual and I couldn't find it.
I only distinctly remember seeing it in the manual that came with the shareware though.

In the manual (aka Readme) for the shareware, like I had said for my last several posts.
