This is somewhat of a tradition I do on every forum I join.
-
28 now, 29 on the 6th of May.
Someone on here just had a birthday, 22 now I believe.
-
Lol, we have the same birthday :o.
I'm 20, but I'll be 21 on May 6th.
Half of me's looking forward to it, the other half can't believe it (though TBH 21 isn't the big deal in Canada like it is in the States - 18 or 19 is the legal drinking age depending on the province - and I don't drink anyway).
-
yeah, 21 can be the big day for us Americans. I don't drink much at all, and nothing happened on my 21st birthday. It was more shallow than most b-days. oh well.
-
I'm twenty-one, will be twenty-two on the 26th of October.
21 was also an anti-climatic age for me to reach.
-
I'm 17, but I've had people think I'm in my mid-20's before, heh.
-
I don't get it. I've always been more decent and mellow, and people always thought I was 3-4 years younger than my real age. "You're like 19 aint you?" "no, 22."
online doesn't count, but someone said, "you sound like you may be in your early 20s", "yeah, 28."
-

I would have switched you with...

Eeek!TM
If this is uncalled for I'll remove it.
And I would have switched Vanguard with Sirius. (Seriously).
-
Sirius?
am i actually cool or important for once?
-
I'm 15, but I'm told that I don't type/act like a 15 year old. :L
-
The person who starts the thread needs to post their age too, you silly goose.
I'm 17.
-
^ I thought it was around that ballpark, no offense. :)

If you're implying I'm older than I seem, this would not surprise me. Even in the real world, most people seem to think I'm a few years younger than I really am. :P
-
So lesse... when I first discovered Descent in the Summer of 1996, you 15-17 year olds were... 0-2? lol! That's alright, it's kinda like me playing the original Super Mario Bros. I'm 26 and people say I look 16. I get ID'ed every time. Once got rejected by this 23 year old girl cuz she thought I was like 16-19 years old and then gave me another chance when she found out I was OLDER!... but I rejected her cuz she looks 33! lol
One thing I've noticed as I've progressed through my twenties is that people your age or younger start looking older and older... I mean, I don't mean to sound conceited, but sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in a time portal and everyone around me is aging. But hey, that'll work if I wanna be in Times Square on December 31, 2099!
-
I went to someones house in Grantsburg, WI and they were playing the original Descent. I don't remember how old I was though.
-
Sirius?
First, pun intended.
One of the level builders who worked on missions like The Apocalyptic Factor, Obsidian, The Enemy Within, etc. (I can't tell from your post whether you knew that or not).
He's 24, but I seriously thought he was 29 or 30.

You do sound younger, though I've always taken you as a peer age-wise - now I know why I guess. That, and you're the son of someone else here, someone who sounds about the same age as my dad - or even a little younger (though I have no way to know, he didn't post here yet :P). So I didn't expect you to be older than me (even if it is only half a year). Again, I would have thought you were Insanity's age and Insanity was your age.
I think I answered your question without answering it.
The person who starts the thread needs to post their age too, you silly goose.
That crossed my mind too.
-
At my age, you people who start talking about how old you are ... you're still just kids and it's hilarious listening to you talk about "how old" you think you are. ;D
I think WillyP would agree with me.
-
You're not old, TechNor! If you think you feel like a kid and can move, you might as well be 25! Age is just a count of how many revolutions the earth made around the sun in our lifetimes. I hope I make it to 117.
-
I'm not old. My Father, he's old and he only recently became 'old' in my opinion.
I'm just sayin' it's funny listening to you guys talk like you're all grown up. Pffft! You guys really have no idea the ways your perspective is going to change in the next 20 years. ;)
Just wondering, why do you want to live to the year 2102? Why not 2101 or 2100?

When I turned 39 quite a while ago, I thought "Now I've become the kind of person I never wanted to be when I was 19." ;D

That's one of the illusions of youth. Age has to do with your state of mind in a way, but it also has to do with experiences you make, and with your body starting to give in to the effects of decades of attrition at some point of time, and the brain acting differently as your hormone balance changes.

Well, at 50, i guess I am the official 'old guy' here. ;) Did I hear my name mentioned? eh? What's that sonny? Let me turn up my hearing aid, hand me my cane, will ya?
-
I'm not saying I'm old, it's just how people talk. I'm 28 years old. I don't say "young", that sounds weird. "I'm 28 years young."
-
Wait, so I'm the only "thirty-something" here? You're all young'ns and old fogies! ;)
-

50 isn't old. It's only 15 years until you can retire and enjoy life (read: play Descent constantly :P). My aunt and godmother turns 50 this week.
This is what I tell Scare too.
I'm going to stop reading this thread now. Too many world-shattering revelations (j/k).
I knew I was at the low end of the spectrum but not this low.
-

See, You've still got your reflexes and you can still remember what it is that bothers you. When you're older and senility kicks in... it's a better deal because you can't remember what it was that bothered ya in the first place. ;)
-
the thrill of growing up :)
happy 500 posts.
-
Ooh! Yeah, Happy 500 TechNor! Btw... why did you change from TechPro to TechNor?
-
He changed it when all of us changed our display names to avoid a hack attempt. He's never changed it back.
Oh, yeah. I still lurk around here now and then, and I'm over 40 (back on topic).
-
No, he was DaDaDa! TechPro! (something like that (back off topic ;-)))
-
That's about right Alieo. That username always reminded me of the Bounty paper towel commercials for some reason. :P
-
If I could remember what we were talking about, I am sure I would agree with you. ;)
-
Still no word on the thread starter's age......................
-
26 ;)
-
Wait, you're only 26 hunter? :o I always thought you were at least in your 30s. So that means you started sector game in your teens?
-
26, and about to be 27 on April. :)
-
@Pumo: In Chinese Astrology, we are RATS!!! (I'm also going to be 27... but not till November thank goodness!)
-
Lol, I always wondered what 1990 was the year of. I've never found out :P.
-
Yeah I started SG when I was 16 - it started off as a Descent LAN group in the UK.
-
@Alieo: Yeap, indeed we are rats. In fact IIRC i'm a Wood Rat. What's your element on chinese astrology? :)
@Alter:
I've made some research and it seems 1990 was the year of the Horse.
-
@Pumo... I looked it up and it says wood... seems about right since we're born the same year. Element changes the next time the year of the rat comes in 12 years:
Years of the Rat and their Elements:
1924 Wood
1984 Wood
1996 Fire
2008 Earth
2020 Metal
2032 Water
2044 Wood
2056 Fire
2068 Earth
2080 Metal
2092 Water
2104 Wood
So, I guess to see your element three times in your life is to have lived 120 years! The oldest person ever was a lady from France who lived to be 122, so she surpassed it!
-
Hehe I wonder what is my animal and element...so, I'm at 22, halfway thru 23. September 1st is my birthday.
-
@Shroudeye: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_astrology
I happen to be from "the year of the cat" which was prominently referred to in a song by Al Stewart. While some thing Al was referring to the year that I was born in, others think he was actually referring to the year before his song was released (that year was also a "year of the cat").
-
So, according to my birth year, I am a "Yang" Earth, and my animal is... Dragon! Hehe :D
-
I've looked this up before, but as I couldn't remember it off hand, I looked up mine as well. Turns out I'm "Yin" Earth with the animal of snake. Consequently right after Shroudeye. :P
