On the contrary, I believe that's the version that Autopilot released on PD.com... the official version (if I'm not mistaken).

Official version is now outdated.

 :D Fair enough.
(Although I like the start of the other one better, so I'll probably keep that one anyway.)

BTW I really like the second part in Broadcast.

And Kaiz did a good job with the fade out at the end of level 8.  Much better than Autopilot did with Conveyor.

(I'm putting together level 5 right now.)

For level 8, there were also a bunch of gaps in between some parts. Level 8 really just ended so abruptly, so I figured I'd add a fade out. ;)

I agree though, Conveyor had a really awkward ending.

*mind goes blank.*

What was level eight in D3?  ::)

Took place on Europa. Fuel depo. Rescued a medical frigate at the end.

Second best level in D3 Retribution imo (best was level 11).

Ah, yes, that level. Yes, that wasn't a half bad level. :)

8 was definitely the most in-depth, I think. There were a lot of objectives to completing the level.

Yeah, but they were linear too... it was more like you automatically complete them all on the way to the end of the level.
Once you've destroyed all the heat sinks it's just go straight, no backtracking till the level end.

There were a few cool extra areas though.

I liked the juxtaposition of fire and ice on Europa.

And speaking of fire and Europa, D1 level 13 was just wrong (Europa mining colony).  It seems Parallax confused Europa with Io.

I apologize if any of this music was the music I created, which was back in August of '08. I had made levels 5, 8 and 14 I think.
This here may not be the music I sent to PD.

I guess I like mine in one way,  it was the last special thing I did, to complete the D3 music, to share it with others on here; which was right before my dad went into the hospital.

Speaking of music, is there any reason why some songs, like levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 15, merc level 3, may have missed some, that have sounds from the game?

No need to apologize, Vangaurd, it's nice to have choices!

As far as why some music have game sounds, I don't know, but some of it could have been that way in the game, like radio chatter, for example, could be triggered by the player passing a certain place or performing an action.

Actually, I think Jerry Berlongeri simply composed those mixes of the song that way, because the sounds that play actually do NOT coincide with gameplay (I've checked). Personally, I like it, and was actually surprised not more of them had sounds from in-game added in.

This reminded me, I managed to find a more complete copy of level three of D3 Merc once that was more complete than the version PD.com had. I had meant to post it up there when I found it, but never did.

Let's see if I can do it now...

EDIT: Nope, says file is too big.

Oh well, I suppose I should check and see if anybody is even interested in it before posting anyway. :)

I would be interested in a new D3 Merc Level 3. The one I've got now is 10 minutes exactly.

I'm interested!  That was one of the best songs in Merc (third best, after Pink Slip and Solar Igni).

And about the in game sounds... Schyphi's right for some of them, but on some songs (especially Merc level 3), the intro "transmission" was part of the music's intro region.  (You can test this in Merc level 3 if you record a demo in a later area, such as the barracks, and then play it back, as demos always start with the intro music).

Also, Jerry's mix of "Research" was completely different from what appeared in game (and I'm not talking about the Sol Ascent version).  It doesn't have the little beep noises that were all through the in-game version.

That may be so. some I can see, some I don't.
I'm not a mixer, if that's the right word. I don't know if anyone can give the early announcement in D3 Level 2 music an echo to it? I wanted to get an echo, but really have no idea how to. I guess the echo wouldn't sound right, as it would almost sound like it's coming off the P.A.
um, I think level 5 was the only one, but there is no announcement there.

Some music I like. I can't say mine was great. I think some of the stuff to that link is better; and in most cases, a better flow and more to it. Great job by the way.
One thing for sure that doesn't seem to have that flow is Level 13 music, between 4:05 and 4:09, either I got a bad download somehow but it seems to come to a halt, and the tune/music just changes almost unnaturally. Maybe I'm wrong.
it just doesn't seem to flow. It just sounds like parts of the song is missing.

For the most part, great job!

Nope, that's how the music goes. That was the end and beginning point for two sections of the music and I had to shorten something the second segment just to make it flow. The song is in 4x4 time and if you keep the beats, that final note in the first segment starts on the first beat and holds for the rest of the three beats and the second starts up again at one in the next measure w/o delay.

Curiously, my new version clocks in at 10 minutes and one second (with the last second being silent) so I'm pretty certain that my version is the same as yours. Which is weird. My old version clocked in at about eight minutes...  ???

Oh, that version would have been on PD before the mass music fixing... it was fixed on PD.com later.

No, my 10 min version I didn't get on PD. I DID get the 8 min version on PD...maybe my download for that particular file just glitched or something...  :-\

I got my 10 min version on PD... but I got an 8 min version on there before.

Hmm. It's a mystery, I guess.  ???

Oh well, either way, it sounds like nobody needs my copy then. :P

Good, cuz I still can't get it to post. :P x2

A New Strain is missing a sample... (highlongwhine.osf).

In other news I like the way you ended it.  Much better than the old version which didn't really end at all (and it didn't loop well either).

It is an exact copy of Autopilot's so I didn't add that part. In fact, there was a whole section of the level that he didn't have. It was in the excerpt that PD.com had. I have that. It was also HQ, too.

Hmm... well when I downloaded the .com version the ending must have been cut off then... no matter this version's better anyway.

Oh, yeah. I did add that little bit at the end. :)

I have the entire set of main mission and merc mission musics on my computer back home. Not sure how I got the missing pieces, but I did. So I got the entire collection at home and burned them to a disc, so I sometimes listen to it in the car and remember the levels as I'm driving. Imagining I'm in a Pyro blasting cars out of my way if they're driving too slow! :P

Hmm... can you upload them here some time?  I'd like to hear your versions of the missing songs (but you obviously can't do it now).
