Prepare to find out about the bizzare "fozzle" race when you download this document To be totally true, the Fozzles were created by "The Writer", an eldrich monstrosity who is the canon's main villain, although not one that allows itself to be seen very often.
Razzadoon's Curse or the Curse of the Otter: Anything electronic in your general vicinity will start doing nothing except spewing out the name "RAZZADOOOON!!!" over and over and over, with various amounts of "o"s if its a visual display like a TV or a computer screen. Even things like ovens and toasters will modulate their humming sounds so that they sound like they're whispering the name, and it doesn't stop if the device is turned off or unplugged. The whispering persists for several days and only stops when you're horrifyingly and excruciatingly transformed into a wild feline or occasionally some other carnivorous animal -- keeping nothing but your intelligence and sanity. The so-called "curse" (which is not actually magical, but an application of incredibly sophisticated lutran technology) was specifically designed to preserve the sanity of its victims. One might even say that the continuation of sanity is the real Curse of Razzadoon.
A character sheet!!! I always do character sketches when I'm coming up with new characters. So here are a few of the sketches for important or reccurring characters in the Odd Canon. I know there's a bit of a gender imbalance among these important characters. I'm working on developing some more female characters strong enough to be major characters, but I have some trouble understanding the female side of things enough to write it believably. So I'm a little bit slower at coming up with female characters than with male characters. For what it's worth the two major female characters I do have in here are two of my favourite characters I've ever invented.
Fair warning: spoilers abound in here. Not just character development spoilers but some pretty big plot points from stories like The Fearret's Journal and Reality's Zipper. If you actually want to read my writing (in that case I'm honored) then you might want to give this a miss. On the other fork of the tail, if you've been listening to some of my vocal songs and have no idea what's going on in their lyrics, then if the song is set in the Odd Canon this document might give you just enough background info on the character doing the singing to figure out what the hell he (or she) is singing about. Or something like that.
Synth-y punk-y rock-y song with Skinny Puppy style synth guitars (if you listen to Skinny Puppy, think Tin Omen or Pedafly or Dig It).
So far, the first work from the point of view of "Mew", a character I particularly like now that I've fleshed him out. He tries to warn somebody about something bad that's going to happen to them, but has to do it through visual metaphors since he can't speak (at least not in human tongues). Said somebody ends up not understanding what this twitchy-tailed sharp-toothed lurker in deep darkness has to tell them, and having something bad happen to them.
It was kind of cool to try and represent those visual metaphors along with what "Mew" might be thinking through musical landscapes and lyrics. It took my mind off the slow death of someone I care about, at any rate.
Also I kind of like what I did to the word "Change" just before the synthy-guitar-ish-thing's solo. Spoiler alert -- it's something appropriate to the word! And it was totally worth four extra FX slots that could have been used for other things.
