06 Primitive Rage (DESCENT Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 12:53:50 PM 288
"Primitive Rage" by Allister Brimble
DESCENT Playstation Redbook Version

Used in: Levels 6 & 21

Notes: I think they decided this song was just too badass to let it just be a title song, they had to use it as in-level music. The way it starts off goes perfectly with the immediate firepower you encounter from the Class 1 Drones in Level 6.
07 Industrial Accident (GAME07 Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 01:07:34 PM 206
"Industrial Accident" by Allister Brimble
GAME07 Playstation Redbook Version

Used in: Levels 7, 14, 17, 22, & 27

Notes: This particular track was used for a whopping 5 levels. Music in the Playstation version of Descent were not repeated in track order, but rather randomly (or strategically) assigned to various levels later in the game. I always wondered why "Industrial Accident" appeared so many times in the game, and when I extracted the music files from the Playstation disc, I found out that "Industrial Accident" had been on there as 3 separate files, yet it was the same song. I speculate that perhaps they were going to include more tracks from the Descent 2 Redbook list, but that they decided to pull a couple of songs at the last minute, leaving the Level 7 theme to repeat itself throughout the game four more times.
08 Haunted (Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 01:21:20 PM 245 2
"Haunted" Instrumental by Type O Negative
(Playstation Redbook Version)

Used in: Level 8, DEMO

Notes: One of two songs to be used in only one level. This version starts off differently and doesn't have that middle break in the song that is in the Descent 2 Redbook version of "Haunted"; it's just full hard rock all the way through.
09 Rusty (Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 01:26:47 PM 217
"Rusty" by Ogre of Skinny Puppy & Mark Walk
Playstation Redbook Version

Used in: Levels 9 & 23

Notes: This version of "Rusty" has a different ending to it than the Descent 2 Redbook version. It slows down at the end and fewer instruments are played as the fade out occurs.
10 Mystery Metal (GAME03 Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 01:29:54 PM 221
"Mystery Metal" by Allister Brimble
GAME03 Playstation Redbook Version

Used in: Levels 10 & 24
11 Robotic Menace (GAME12 Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 01:32:17 PM 258
"Robotic Menace" by Allister Brimble
GAME12 Playstation Redbook Version

Used in: Levels 11 & 25
12 Glut (GAME11 Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 01:41:06 PM 220 2
"Glut" by Ogre of Skinny Puppy & Mark Walk
GAME11 Playstation Redbook Version

Inactive Track

Notes: This song was not used in any regular levels of Descent for Playstation. I did not even knew this version of "Glut" existed until I ripped the tracks from the Playstation disc. I speculate that if it was used anywhere in the game that it was used in Multiplayer Mode. If someone can verify this who has played Descent online on the PSX, please leave a comment below or PM me.

I also suspect that maybe this was the track they didn't want to release at the last minute, so instead of deleting it, they made it inactive and had "Industrial Accident" play as a filler for a few extra levels. Maybe there actually was a method to their madness.
13 Ratzez (GAME13 Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 01:45:16 PM 230 1
"Ratzez" by Ogre of Skinny Puppy & Mark Walk
GAME13 Playstation Redbook Version

Used in: Level 13

Notes: One of two songs used only once in the game. This version of "Ratzez" is longer than any other out there released for Descent or Descent 2.
14 Outerlimits (BRIEFING Playstation Redbook Version) June 04, 2012, 01:55:18 PM 178
"Outerlimits" by Allister Brimble
BRIEFING Playstation Redbook Version

Used in: "Level Complete/Mine Destroyed" screen.

Notes: This was NOT used as background music for briefing screens. Briefings were read by the same computer voice that famously notifies you when "self destruct sequence activated" has been initiated upon destruction of the mine's reactor. When you exit the mine, a cinematic cutscene plays, and after that, when the screen pops up that says, for example, "Level 1 Complete - Lunar Outpost Destroyed," this music plays. The song does give me the visualization of a mine in shambles.
