Minimalist techno-trance, in the style of Half Life 1 and 2, but with a Chinese/Japanese/(Korean?) feel. There are some deliberately ambiguous cyborg voices "singing" as a neutral lead to fill in the gaps between darker and lighter parts of the music that otherwise wouldn't flow together at all. The main point is that there is no one correct interpretation of the lyrics, they're made so that different people might hear different words (even what I typed into the speech synth doesn't count as correct... I went to the lengths of moving some words on top of each so that they get said at the same time, to increase ambiguity). Even though it's minimalist it's still pretty dynamic. And no, the title has nothing to do with any kind of Red Fatty.

A loose remix I made of the Pelorus theme from Obsidian, mostly keeping the same feel with totally different music and instrumentation and in the electro genre... but the beginning should be recognizable to anyone who's played through Obsidian (level 8, if you're not good with level names). Raptor (as in a bird of prey) is the word that comes to mind when I listen to the original midi file from the game, and the "Raptor" feel is how I kept with the original feel. To understand how I interpreted that feel... you are the raptor. The original midi song was by Verran Eventide.

This is an "experiment" with a different kind of buildup. Building drama instead of action. Music wise it's Techno D&B with some rock elements, and it's similar to Star Forest. If it and Star Forest tell stories, this one would come first. EDIT: I changed the name to something that fits much better and reuploaded the file with updated ID3 tagging.

Theme of the thief. I'll change the picture once I get a good shot of him. Very interesting how the song was created: I decided to combine the feels of D2's Ratzez, Rouge's songs from Sonic Adventure 2, along with Zsolt Marx's song "Fill Your Pages" from TrackMania Sunrise... a few hours later this was the result. It sounds very alien, especially later on in the song. Very wierd, but I think it's good too. Even though it has no acid synths, I'd classify it as acid dubstep (since the beat is distorted kind of like dubstep) because it's wierd like acid music. ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is what the alien voices are singing (i.e. the lyrics) They were inspired by Darkflamewolf's level of the same name from Vignettes, and they're also really wierd (the idea was an alien language translated to english but still with it's own grammar, so they're not totally random). All the lyrics were made with the FL Speech synth, fruity slicer, wasp, and vocodex (and they all use all of those). ----------------------------------------------------------------- First part: "Escape from the mine You are trapped inside Bots are everywhere You must find the secret path" "Escape from the mine Bots are everywhere You are trapped inside Find the key Find the key!" Second part: "Dude I am so not scared You cannot fight me anywhere Bots are everywhere Find the key Find the key!" And at the end: "Key!" ------------------------------------------------------------ Come to think of it they sound kind of like something from Scott Pilgrim. It would make a good theme for the D2 Theifbot, the music, the lyrics, and the title fit him perfectly. (I suppose then I should play it in D2 level 7... such a huge interconnected level it feels like the thief owns it ).
