Title: Not really a test; just updates
Post by: VANGUARD on June 23, 2011, 06:43:24 AM
Sorry, not really a test, but not really something I'd put in the mess hall.

I have updated my profile, still not a lot on there. Avatar is the phoenix ship; and the signature talks about it, sort of.

thank you. I updated a tad bit more. I don't usually update or even write profiles, but I figured, why not do that here?

Yeah, nice update (and hope to see your pic with your PD T-shirt soon ;) ).

This reminds me I haven't updated my profile at all.  :-X

*looks at own profile*

Hmm...the only thing I see that I might need to change on my profile is to change my e-mail account, as that's out of date now... ::)

Also looked at your profile, Vanguard, and it looks nice. Obviously, you have more to say on it than I do. :)

thanks guys. I will have to work on it a little bit more soon. generalized a bit right now.
I think I still have that cable to get the camera plugged into the computer.
I had my planetdescent.net tshirt on when I was with my girl friend, Karen.
She saw me play it for a few minutes. Do I see a Descenteret coming?

I'll explain that:

dude (guy)
dudet (spelling? a girl)

Descenter (a Descent playing guy)
Descenteret (a Descent playing girl)

I wouldn't object to a Descenteret joining our ranks. Don't really to seem to have that many. Bettina and Darkflamewolf are the only two that I know of (that are still active).

I'm sure she's a bit busy though. I won't be able to see her this weekend :( bummer.

Why is whenever a person, such as myself is FINALLY getting extra money and can catch up, something has to come around. this time; the dentist.

This will be me ~~~>  :-X

I know what you mean...

My best friend is attending a different university and even though we're still in the same city, we're usually so busy that we don't get to see each other except at certain times in the year (summer, winter break, reading week).  Most other times, when one of us is finally available the other isn't.

We've actually started to go out on Halloween again because it's one of the only times of the year when we both know that we're going to be free :P.  Apart from that and term breaks, we usually just talk on the phone.

that's how it is with one of my friends. last time we did anything together was helping him move furniture in his apartment. this was the day I got my car, and a few believe the world was coming to an end, May 21st of 2011.
The last time before that, I saw him during the mid term elections, November something of 2010.

Typically I see my girl friend Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. There have been days where it's also Monday and/or Tuesdays, and maybe not a Wednesday then. something like that. We typically find a way to do something at least 2-3 times a week.

Saw her last night; and played some PS2 games and played pool in the rec center; what a sweetheart she is :)

So now we're calling her a girlfriend again?

I don't think he ever stopped, Matt.  ::)

For a short while, she was my girl friend, then for a month or so, my girlfriend, and then, towards the end of April, my girl friend again. I say "my girl friend" because I only care to have one girl friend. I love her. I want this to work. I think she is gradually getting closer again. She wanted to talk Thursday (two days back), said she was worried that maybe one day, I'd leave her. partially because I told her a few times that I don't know if I can stand just being friends. She was sad, and I reassured her that I could never leave her, that I love her, that I don't want anyone else. I really think that helped a bit, and last night (Friday), she appreciated that I went out with her to check out some bar where she may be there some days, playing the accordion.

not the best with pictures (took it myself, with a timer) and I can't always see myself in pictures and mirrors, but I did it. Descent theme picture :)
a no brainer, very easy easter egg, but find what my pilot name is in Descent.

heh, sometimes I wonder how nerdy my friends really see me. I don't often talk about games (though one time while sitting with some people at lunch I was uncontrollably giggling and it was weirding people out -- I was drawing a picture of Sabin suplexing a train (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2u84cH_bmTA&feature=player_embedded)), and I only mention things like computer programming on a rare basis -- I once even had to explain to someone what "programming" is. Typically these discussions are rare and quite short :P

I don't know how much I care anymore. You only live once, you know? I do tease Karen at times, like with Call of Duty. I'd say, "yeah, I love hanging out with you, but in November, I'll have a new C.O.D. game and disappear for a month. She knows I'm kidding. Quite honestly, I don't get into any games too heavily like I use to.
Sure, I'll play C.O.D., and at times, some Descent game, or Midnight Club, but people do come first.

Actually I was more referring to all the talk about her, but we'll go with that.

My sister also plays Descent. :)
I think that one more Descentette would be very nice to have on the community.

Oh, and inspired by you (Vanguard) I decided to update my profile also, with more info about me and a small (although low quality :P) pic of me.

Your pic was a nice shot with your shirt and all the Descent stuff. ;)

She has already seen me talk about her in here, like getting that sonic music, Oil Ocean, and the songs she gave me.

My sister also plays Descent. :)

Nice updated profile. wow, I inspired someone  ;D

there's at least two versions to Wuthering Heights? I think my mom has the original. never saw it though. not a clue on what it's about.

my sister has been playing the original "American McGee's Alice".
needed help in some areas. not quite the gamer I have been.
Title: Re: Not really a test; just updates

AFAIK there are 3 film adaptations of Wuthering Heights.

The first one is a very old one in black and white. There's a second adaptation from the 70's with Timothy Dalton, and my favorite one (the one I'm talking about on my profile) is the third one from 1992, with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche. I love that movie, it's so touching and dramatic (of course, as the novel).  :'(

-

Now regarding 'gamer sisters', my sister was good in the past playing Super Mario Bros. 3, although now she prefers more relaxed games, not taking in account Descent. ;)
Although he plays in Trainee he enjoys Descent very much. :)

Some may not know it, but the user CH-3 here on the Descent community, is actually my siter.  ;D

I've... 'updated' my profile now.
The 'description' has an entirely new theme.

I'm not sure I wanted to know that much about bagels.  ::)

I'm almost afraid to admit I saw the movie; but "Everything you always wanted to know about bagels but were afraid to ask"
sure sounds like a movie I saw, word for word; well, change one word and you have the title.

bagel, corned beef, plain cream cheese. enough said. slightly heated in microwave, not hot, just a hint of, um, not cold  ;D

I like bagels. Lightly toasted, generously spread with cream cheese.

Can't say I've had bagels recently. They've never really been that common in the home. If memory serves, though, I did like them with a bit of cream cheese too. :)

Bagels are densely packed rings of evil fiber death.  ::)

No, I'm not a bagel fan.  Donuts are an entirely different matter, especially with plenty of warm cocoa nearby.  ;D

I like bagels, but only some kinds of them. Overdone ones like everything bagels in a bag are just terrible sometimes. And yes, they go good with a bit of cream cheese.

There's a Bagel restaurant near my work that serves some delicious bagels, indeed.
There is a 'Pizza Baggel' that is a bagel stuffed with tomato sauce, spices, cream cheese, champignons, yellow peppers, & peperoni. Delicious.

There is also a very nice one stuffed with various cheese types (including blue cheese).

Mmmmh, bagels...  :P

Apart from bagels, the only other entity made out of pure awesomeness is Chuck Norris.
