Hello from Russian Descent Outpost! 8)
This info may be interesting for russian-speaking fans.
I would like to proudly announce russian version of Descent 1 that has been released recently!
It's available in two versions:
D1 for DOS (based on original .exe v1.5) and modified D1X-Rebirth 0.58.1 (Windows build).
Archives are available here: http://www.descent2.ru/descent/fajly-resursy.html (http://www.descent2.ru/descent/fajly-resursy.html) (in russian language!)
Archives contain only modified resources so full version of Descent 1 is required.
Rebirth note: it's separate pack, do not install into the same folder with english version of D1X-Rebirth.
Here are some screenshots:

Не плохо! Я люблю!
Love the Cyrillic Descent letters!
So, "Ракета" means "rocket" (missle), right? Isn't Ракета a brand of 24-hour dial watch? I have one but it's a полярные.
Thanks for sharing! No, I don't speak русский, but I am learning slowly. :)

Thanks for positive comments!
Yes, 'Ракета' means "missile, rocket". And yes, 'Ракета' is a brand of watches, manufactured by oldest watch factory in Russia.

They are cool fontness. Good work.

Very cool, might download it just for the cool factor. I can't read Russian, but after playing Descent for so long, who needs to? 8)
Is there any way to replace "LOCK" indicator in the cockpit graphic with the Russian translation?
-
I decided not to modify any graphics except fonts - that was a main idea of this 'project'.
So, currently, answer is no.
