"Descent" posted by Alieo in Assorted Mixes July 08, 2014, 11:24:56 PM 207 1
Here's a possible "pilot" version of Game02/Virtual Tension that I found awhile back, and I found it on Allister Brimble's channel (with him credited as the artist) of some site (I forget where) but it was simply titled, "Descent". The title theme to Descent in the PC was named, "Descent", but in the PSX version, Virtual Tension was actually used as the theme along as the song to levels 1, 12, and 15.
01 - Trickster, D2 Counterstrike Glut Correlation posted by Kaiaatzl in Descent 2 Vertigo Fox Redbook Correlations July 04, 2011, 04:09:25 PM 160
Title: Trickster

Correlated Song: Glut

Correlated Levels: Ahayweh Gate, Coalbank Shaft, Nneri Ring

Project: G'Blanix OST

Description: One thing that irked me about Glut was how, at the beginning of D2, you have these awesome movies with an amazing cinematic soundtrack, you jump into the first level expecting some equally amazing music and what you get is... Glut.  Yeah.
So this song attempts to combine the essence of Glut with that cinematic feel of the movie music in D2, for something that maybe wouldn't have been so underwhelming if it had been the first song to come after those movies.
My secondary goal with this song was to evoke the European Dark Ages, China, and a weasel, all at the same time.

Or Tiny Dark Nation #3ase The Log Scale

A tribute to the work of Lyris!  In a genre and style that he never used -- Jazzy chaotic tribal hiphop!
Lots of Awe32-like soundfont instruments, and more generally instrumentation very similar to the orchestral sort of instrumentation Asrale enjoyed (with the exception of the harmonica).

The vocals are a parody of the culture of a "tiny dark nation".  From the instrumentation and style you can probably guess what nation it symbolizes.  Canadians have to be anti-american (except for those Americans who get the status of honorary Canadian), it's part of our national identity, but it's all in good fun, and you knew that anyway.  I wanted to have some more good fun with it.  A song that basically tells you why I'm glad not to be American.
