The gift exchange this year was a game, so no one got very much, but everyone got something (I'd post the rules but I'd have to remember them all).  I ended up with a cordless power screwdriver (that I'll probably never use... maybe) which was obviously supposed to be a funny gift (and it was), but it wasn't the funniest: My grandfather got 3 rolls of duct tape and a book called "How to do Everything".

I also got a new watch that actually works (compared to Xaihyv who got a new uber-laptop that hopefully works :P, maybe we'll finally be able to play D2X-XL multiplayer), and best of all, my brother and I each got tickets to the Arrogant Worms concert on March 20th.
I also got some M:TG cards, the best of which was another  Darksteel Juggernaut (which won me a lot of games at the Scars of Mirrodin prerelease).

All this was on x-mas eve.

Today I finally got to try out the Heavy Wolf ship because version 1.15.121 of D2X-XL does not have the crashing bug I've been getting in previous versions.

BTW, this thing cannot play flash so any ideas on how to "Jailbreak" it or something?

NVM. I'm about to jailbreak this bastard. >: )

I don't blame you, many people consider iTunes malware.

About the only thing I use iTunes for is importing music off CDs and maybe for labeling the odd song I obtain (as I like it's interface for that) but that's about it. :P

As for what I got for Christmas, I got...

-Lots of candy
-the WALL-E Original Movie Soundtrack
-Books including Triss, Starfleet Academy: The Delta Anomaly, a nature book, and a comic collection containing issues 1-4 of BOOM! comics's new Darkwing Duck comic series 8).
-Two fine tipped, gel-ink pens,
-As well as a pair of something called Liquid Pencils, which are apparently supposed to be some kind of competitor to mechanical pencils
-a pair of ear-clip headphones
-and a blue polo shirt my mother made.

- Reccetear (on Steam!)
- Two Mini LCD Flashlights
- Gloves
- A Toothbrush
- A VISA Giftcard  ^^;

Personally, I hate iTunes; it nearly crashes my computer when it loads (everything freezes for 10 seconds), consumes an absured amount of resources just to run, and is in general very annoying.  The only reason I still keep it around is because it does make it easier to browse through and purchase music online.

You can also get some free music, legally, here:  Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free Books, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine (http://www.archive.org/index.php)

unless you're looking for decent sound quality...

also I would never touch the iTunes store if it could be avoided. music drm annoys me to no end.

Yes, purchase.  I'm aware of other ways and sites to... *cough*  ...obtain music via other methods.  Ignorance isn't why I do it. <:

For as much as I dislike it, everyone keeps talking about iTunes DRM, but personally I've never run into the issue.  iTunes will convert your .m4a's to .mp3's anyways, and there's no limit to the ways you can de-DRM them.

I parlayed (e.g. returned, and combined with a few $$) most of the gifts I was given into some components for a new PC build I'm starting.

Otherwise, I'm with WillyP.  The most fun was had watching my kid open his presents.  :D
