Noooo. Give me back my old pokemon. The new pokemon (along with most other new Anime shows) sucks.

A blast from the past! I haven't seen, heard, or talked about Pokemon in years. I loved watching the original series back in 1998. Charizard FTW

I grew out of Pokémon 3 years ago. Pow, haha.

I was mildly amused with it back in the Pokemon Red and Blue days, but lost interest soon after. Consequently, I know nothing of the Pokemon you listed. I did, however, love the cartoon as a kid though (I was what, 10 at the time)?

The only ones I really remember are the ones that appear in the "Super Smash Bros." series in the "poke-ball" item. CURSE YOU, GOLDEEN.

And agreed with Planet Orange Citizen: Charizard FTW. Also, MISSINGNO. FTW!

^this, this, and all of this. If they showed the original again, I might watch it, but other than that, nope, sorry, no can do.

(Also pokemon yellow > red and blue)

I actually do still have my pokemon yellow version.. never finished it..  :P

Crystal was my favorite version and Feraligatr was my favorite Pokemon. Unfortunately, my old game cannot hold a save anymore. One of my other friends had the same exact problem...

Shows are now crap. Movies are good (one of them stole my nickname :P). Games are decent.

Pokemon?  Bah!  All Pokemon (and anything connected to Pokemon) should be utterly wiped out. (IMO)  A scourge it be.

Reminds me of one of my friends. "I dislike pokemon with utter disgust."

I remember when Pokemon became all the rage back in elementary school. Can't say I ever liked them, but for various reasons, I ended up with a smattering of those collector cards in the end (including one that was apparently very rare, because once word got out that I had it, everyone wanted it).

Don't know squat about any of the other Pokemon media, particularly the shows and movies, as I never have watched them, and probably never will.

I actually saw ONE TIME when they were doing that! I think it was a fish. IDK.

That answers the question of "do they eat them?" Now they need to answer:

Why can't the police do squat to stop the terrorist groups (Team Rocket, etc.) while a bunch of kids do it every day?

Where the heck is the military? I am sure that they wouldn't put up with Team Rocket. Maybe, those terrorists ARE the military! They come in with helicopters and mechs! Where'd they get that?

How is it, that no matter where Ash goes, Jessie and James HAPPEN to run into Ash's team, every day? The poor girl that Ash brings along is always dragged into this. Is that why they leave after every generation? :P

Where are the gunz? I heard that they banned an episode from the USA because it had one? How many more have they banned from the eyes of 6 yearolds who all play Call of Duty? BOOM! Headshot! (they do have bazookas, but they always shoot nets. Where's the HE rockets?)

Whoever is young/middle aged/old, perpetually remains young/middle aged/old.

How does the economy work? Especially with free health care. FREE HEALTH CARE! You walk into the hospital, say "patch up my crew," walk out, and don't even leave an I.O.U.?

If only there was a more mature version. I would love to see the controversy when the s*** starts to fly with the mature series. :P

The reason police can't stop team rocket is because there to slow and yell tooooooooooo much and give themselves away. If there was to be a military(which there is not) they would use the pokemon and they get the mechs from Meowth who makes them but i don't know where he gets the materials to make 'em. Team Rocket wants Ash's pikachu because of it's power. Ash traveled with 3 girls and went to all four regions Kanto: Misty,Johto: Misty,Hoenn: May,and Sinnoh: Dawn. The only gun is the net launcher. The free health care is only for pokemon. :(

@NUMBERZero, it's an anime, it's not supposed to make sense, otherwise it wouldn't be a very good anime (sorry, but that's my number one pet peeve about anything anime. I'm bias). :P

@X-ray, I don't think those answers are going to satisfactory enough for some. In fact, I'm not entirely sure if this argument can be won...

because they aren't the good guys. Only the good guys can do that

The military probably doesn't exist because the pokèmon are there to do the fighting

They implanted a GPS chip into Ash. Also, they are the bad guys. They aren't actually evil but just there to impress any passing people with storylines. The girl is changed every season because she gets a new boyfriend and moves on. One that doesn't waste his time attacking pokèmon with more pokèmon

They like to pretend the 6 year olds aren't playing CoD or any other games that are violent.

also no one needs guns. They have pokèmon instead.

Time works differently in their universe (see: Rydia in the Feymarch). Ash is actually 3458 human years old.

reusuable supplies.

yes I'm bored right now

Good answers but Ash is 18...
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: SaladBadger on April 10, 2010, 05:33:39 AM
That's what they want you to think :P

(he's only 18 of their universe years old. And their years are much longer than a human year. A scaling factor of 192.11 to be presice)

Canada has free health care, and the lifespan of the average Canadian is longer than the average American.  :P

Also, Canada's economy was one of the best in the world during the recent reccession.

Go to the top of the thread, where you see the poll ... click on View Results
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: Scyphi on June 05, 2010, 06:51:57 AM
Don't think I didn't already think of that. Only one problem...no "view results" to click upon for me.  ::)
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: SaladBadger on June 05, 2010, 07:01:46 AM
Then the poll was probably set so you can't view results before voting... weirdest option ever.
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: Scyphi on June 05, 2010, 07:06:14 AM
In that case, somebody else is going to have to tell me if anybody voted.

I'd vote myself and find out, but no matter what I'd vote for in this poll, it'd be a lie. :P
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: SaladBadger on June 05, 2010, 07:43:10 AM
uhh, one single vote for Feraligatr (I always thought pokèmon names were reasonable.....), 4 for "What's pokèmon (me included)", and 3 for "I like all pokèmon!"
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: TechPro on June 05, 2010, 07:55:20 PM
Well, shut my mouth ... it doesn't give the "regular" members to view the results if they haven't voted (ie: You vote, then you see the results).  For me (I'm "irregular") it shows an option to view results despite not having voted.

So... I've attached the Poll results (as of today).
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: Matthew on June 05, 2010, 08:43:40 PM
Why does it matter what the poll results are before you vote? :/
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: SaladBadger on June 05, 2010, 09:07:15 PM
Oddly, the "allow view results" thing is an option set when creating polls... kinda odd that they would have such an option, unless they want to stop people from just "going with the flow", or something.
Title: Re: Pokemon (All regions)
Post by: TechPro on June 05, 2010, 09:13:56 PM
That could be.  When I made the Poll regarding Summer 2010 plans ... I intentionally left the "View results" option allowed for everyone.

When I think about the procedures of voting for politicians ... they avoid letting you see how the vote is actually turning out (other than what the media 'decides') specifically to not taint the results.

It makes sense, but I've yet to see a poll in a forum that would have made any difference either way.  Meh.

That's got to be weird.
If you voted for number 7, the last options doesn't make sense at all. :)

Because there would always be a stupid *NEW* sign in 3 different placs so I might as well see if the dig was worth something. I hate digs.
